📍Castle Ashby and its beautiful orangery… Castle Ashby is a Northamptonshire country house set upon 10,000 acres, 35 of which showcase various garden types such as Italian style, an arboretum and the aforementioned orangery. Built in the late 16th century in the Elizabethan architectural style, it is the ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton.

The orangery was constructed between 1781 and 1782, designed by architect Matthew Digby Wyatt, and features the hexagonal pond shown here, designed by architect William Burgess; the pond holds over 100 fish and a variety of water lilies. The castle is closed to the public however the grounds and orangery are open.
